><h2>Silver-plating for industrial and lab glassware<\/h2>\n<p>Our workshop has a room dedicated to <strong class=\"d2b\">silvering<\/strong> and to put <strong class=\"d2b\">under vacuum adiabatic parts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong class=\"d2b\">silver-plating<\/strong> process is basically a silver precipitation on the <strong class=\"d2b\">glass<\/strong> (silver nitrate redox) within a sealable glass vessel.<\/p>\n<p>After this operation, the silvered vessel is assembled on a vacuum pump to put under high vacuum (10<sup>-6\u00a0<\/sup>mbar) and finally the vessel is flame sealed.<\/p>\n<p>The vacuumed silver-plated jacket improves the insulation of the vessel from the thermal exchanges (vacuum) and from infrared rays (silver plated mirror effect).<\/p>\n<p>We are also able to establish a \u201cwindow\u201d (narrow opening without silver) to be able to see inside the silvered vessel.<\/p>\n<p>The silvered glassware (column, column head, &#8230;) is oftenly repairable but the vacuum and silver must be removed before repair and replace after.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div  class='flex_column av-3cfj4-4f5065194bd8e91d883bd23c0c3c7eb6 av_two_fifth
